the vertex points of the cube have been measured two times. The
first vertex point (starting point)was measured three times. In sum,
49 measurements were planned. Each time a parameter is changed,
at first constant process conditions have to be reached. This is the
case when the sensor signals, in particular the gas temperature,
show a constant value. From this point, the measurement time of
the sensors was chosen to 300 s. As measurement value for each
sensor and parameter combination, the signal of each sensor is
averaged over this period. Simultaneously to the sensory measurements,
ten microbiological samples were taken for each
setting. The contact time of the microbiological samples was chosen
uniformly at 150 ms, which turned out to be suitable for
studying the inactivation kinetics as the expected microbial
reduction of the bacterial spores should be neither too high (total
inactivation) nor too low (no inactivation).
