14.2 TEST POLICY
Test policy is defined at organisation level by the senior management of the organisation. It defines the intent of senior management with respect to testing activities which is derived from the mission statement of the organisation and the vision of management. Definition of test policy differs significantly for product organisation and project organisation, and as per the life cycle phase where it is applicable. The reason for this difference is as follows.
• In case of product organisation, the entire product is owned by the organisation and it is responsible for any problem faced by final user while using the product.
• In case of project organisation, it offers development service to customer but does not own the product. Customer decides the expectations of the product being developed in terms of quality factors expected in the product.
