the commercial trout diet showed a slight but significant rise in plasma
Vg, increasing from 2.6±0.6 mg/mL at day 0 to 6.2±1.1 mg/mL at
day 40. Plasma Vg in squid-based diet fed group was significantly
reduced by day 10, and decreased to undetectable levels at days 30
and 40 (Fig. 2A inset). Expression of all three Vg genes was significantly
increased in the E2-injected and E2-fed male fish, and
significantly decreased to 0.63–3.3% of control levels in squid-based
diet fed fish (Fig. 2B). Hepatic expression of ERα was significantly
increased in both E2-treated groups, while ERβ was significantly
reduced in all groups (Fig. 2C).
