Wikipedia Will Do This Again
And could even happen with Luke Evans. Some weeks, months, or years from now, that page could (and probably will) be changed to remove the material about his being gay. The basic reason for this is that Wikipedia is based on the idea that there is no such thing as a 'fact,' or 'the truth.' Reality is always up for a vote at Wikipedia, and whoever sways the 'consensus' of their insider clique will win. Even now, with the mention temporarily restored, Wikipedia has censored the 'gay' cagegorization from the page.
Trust me, folks, Wikipedia has no rules at all. Luke Evans will be 'gay' at Wikipedia only as long as people check into the article and dispute what are sure to be constant future attempts to 'degay' it. Those attempts will be against not only common sense but Wikipedia's own rules, but neither of those things matters there.
Oh, and if the Evans article should manage to survive intact over the long run, you can be sure that there will be many other instances where similar things happen at Wikipedia. They really don't have any standards at all, and it starts with their not giving any particular status to facts or truth. As a 'reference' work, look to Wikipedia for totally non-controversial material. On any matters of controversy, they will reflect whatever a small group of insiders, most of them high school and college computer geeks who know very little except for their hobby, have decided on a whim.
