they find evidence of significant effects on mortality for particulate
matter air pollution, NO2, and O3. Other single-city studies conducted
in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne have also found evidence
for a short-term effect of particular matter air pollution on
mortality (Morgan et al., 1998; Simpson et al., 1997, 2000). It should
also be noted that other studies conducted in these regions have
failed to find an association between particular matter air pollution
and mortality, see for example, Vaneckova et al. (2010). For a more
