Uses and Limitations. The concept of QDA is relatively young, gaining its foothold as a sensory evaluation approach in the rid-seventies. Thus far, few successful applications have been published but the method seems to hold much promise in several areas of need particularly in the field of research and quality control. Because of its relative ease of implementation and analysis as compared to the flavor profile and due to its versatility of use for description of varied product attributes, the QDA can be very useful in product development, quality control and product improvement.
