An important index in the compost that is responsible for its
toxic effects on crops is the soluble salts. EC reflects the total ion
concentration, including soluble salts (Chen et al., 2014). The EC
of the two treatments exhibited a similar trend during the process.
As shown in Fig. 1, in the initial stage, the EC rapidly increased to a
maximum value of 3.96 mS/cm within 16 h in DHAF then
decreased to a relatively low level, reaching the lowest level of
2.35 mS/cm at the end of the process. In contrast, the EC value
increased to a maximum value of 4.69 mS/cm within 6 days in
TSC, then slowly decreased, reaching the lowest level of
