It is known that for small values of ϵ, numerical solutions of Burgers' equation exhibit oscillations and nonlinear instabilities. For ϵ = 0.0001, Ames [5] used a finite difference method, with a grid spacing of ∆x = 0.005 and time step of ∆t = 0.0004, in order to obtain reasonable results.
