I had alot of fun, and that's all I was expecting out of this. The action was great, Indominus Rex was well done, although they could've used it's camouflaging feature more than once for another jumpy "whoa" moment. And I have to say, the trained raptors won me over. I was 100% against it leading up to seeing it, but dang it if I wasn't rooting for Blue at the end. And the final action sequence was great with a nice surprise that I thought was pretty cool. I'm a Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard fan, and while there were cheesy lines, they were likeable and the rest of the cast was good too.
My one major beef was the CGI. I know it isn't going away, and the CGI was really good, but it never felt real. This film can never be compared to the original, but in terms of effects I think it is fair. I watched JP again last week, and there's just something about the mixture of animatronics, computer effects, the cinematography, and the subtlety of showing just enough that makes the dinosaurs in the original look freaking real, especially the T-Rex and the Raptors. It just never felt completely real in Jurassic World. And I just can't get over that. Maybe it is a testament to how mind-blowingly awesome the original is, but JW mostly never made me believe there were really dinosaurs on the screen. The only times it really made me believe were when the raptors heads were in the muzzles, and when Owen was holding the head of the Brachiosauras as it was dying (and i'm pretty sure both of those were animatronics with CGI enhancements). But again this was an entertaining summer action movie and I'm glad it is blowing up the box office.
