There is a growing concern in identifying the motives for the use of social media by such organisations. In this respect,previous studies have examined factors such as network activity (Bortree & Seltzer, 2009), social media experience (Zornet al., 2013), organisation age and organisation size (Nah & Saxton, 2012). However, the question of the role that interna-tionalization can play in social media is still to be explored. In this regard, Galvez Rodriguez, Caba Perez, and Lopez Godoy(2012) pointed out that internationalization is a factor that should be considered in the analysis of the web disclosure ofinformation in the NPO sector.
