Everyone loves a classic French twist. Now, give that twist new flavour by having it slightly looser, with a younger, cooler and more of a hip feel and you are set to be the next big socialite around. Chanel’s Sam McKnight embraced this look with zeal and passion, bringing in the messier feel and the ease of achieving the look while securing it with a statement logo piece pin with a thick ribbon tied around the head. It was a distinctively French look, with all the chic and sophistication as well as the playful undertones. Braided extensions topped off the look at Tom Ford, though still looking rather windswept and unkempt, while the Hermes show featured Guido Palau’s version of a modern equestrian updo. Diane von Furstenberg offered a slightly simpler design that was twisted into a knot-like chignon at the nape of the neck, while the Victoria Beckham models wore the fun style French twist with the ends hanging straight and loose towards the side of the head. Oscar de la Renta envisioned a sleeker, more sophisticated beauty with not a strand out of place, a direct contrast to some of the other designers who had worked hard to make messy look perfect in of itself.
