An experimental design was implemented by making floating
bamboo frame of 5 m
×
10 m size and spreading all parts of
ponds, with the total covering area of about 10 percent. About
2–3 seedlings of water hyacinth were put into the bamboo-floating
frame, and the measurement of growth rate, chemical analysis, biological
characteristics, and physical evidences at the same time of
water quality analysis including aquatic lives was conducted every
week. Influent and effluent of wastewater pond had to be recorded
in order to determine element loading to examine the treatment
efficiency of the pond and the uptake capacity of heavy metals and
plant nutrients as related to the growth rate of water hyacinth. Furthermore,
the study paid more attention to the social behaviors of
dwellers living around the treatment pond and the concerned point
source along the wastewater drainage canals
