The length of a number, when working with
whole numbers that differ in the number of
digits, does indicate this relationship or magnitude.
However, it is particularly troublesome
to apply this rule to decimals (e.g., thinking that
0.273 is larger than 0.6), a misconception noted
by Desmet, Grégoire, and Mussolin (2010).
