The results showed that the principles of RE have high impact on HSEE factors. In other
words, considering and applying the concept of RE, HSEE factors could be significantly improved. According to the causality features extracted from the Z-number cognitive map, the
causality diagrams were plotted for determining the degree of influence which RE principles and
HSEE factors have on each other. The results indicated that top management commitment has
the most impact (0.827) on the environment, learning has the most impact (0.792) on the health,
preparedness has the most impact (0.786) on the ergonomics and awareness has the most impact
(0.776) on the safety. The proposed approach in this study can help managers of various
companies to improve their performance in terms of HSEE using RE factors. Finally, the features
of this study are compared with some other related studies and the results are presented in Table
