The term geopolymer is used for Alumino-silicate polymers
formed in an alkaline environment [13]. During the process of geopolymerization,
alumino-silicates are dissolved into alkali solution
to form free SiO4 and AlO4 tetrahedral units. Further these SiO4 and
AlO4 tetrahedrons linked alternatively where charge-balancing
cations are provided by alkali metal cations and yield polymeric
precursors by sharing all oxygen atoms between two tetrahedral
units and forming monolithic geopolymer products
