This also applies to other important adventure travel circuits, for example the ‘Gringo Trail” in Latin America or the “Salt Road” in Africa. Tourist flows linking generating regions in developed countries with Third World nations have been noted for various types of tourism. However, for overland travel the flow of various from core countries (in Europe and North America) both to and through a variety of peripheral countries is of particular importance.
