Writing the Plan
John G. Burch, a Writer on entrepreneurship made the following suggestions for writing an
effective plan
Be honest, not only by avoiding outright lies, but also by revealing what you actually
feel about the significant and relevant aspects of the plan.
Use the third person not the first person (“I” or “we”). This practice forces you to
think clearly and logically from the other person ‘s perspective
• Use transitional words, such as but, still, and therefore’ and active, dynamic verbs as
a means of leading the reader from one thought to another
• Avoid redundancies such as future plans”; repetition adds nothing to the
presentation
• Use short simple words; where feasible so the plan will he easy to understand and
follow.
• Use Visuals such as tables, charts, photos my computer graphics to present your
ideas effectively
