According to the previously stated requirements,the model iJP962 is most suitable for modeling our system. The biggest difference between these models shown in table 1 is the number of compartments. But this is not necessarily an advantage. Many of the reactions are over the internal membrane and not functional for the core intermediate metabolites. Added to this, iJN746 has a focus on compounds that are in a different class of metabolites than the fungal growth inhibitors we chose for our system [27]. Therefore iJP962 is more representative due to more reactions and more metabolites in a broader spectrum. The primary category of concern for fungal growth inhibitor production is the amino acid metabolism and iJP962 has the most reactions in this category [14,15,17]. neither model included all the specific reactions, metabolites and genes that are necessary for modeling the fungal growth inhibitor metabolites. These reactions need to be added manually to the GSMM.
