The remaining
contained the two viruses. The result was further confirmed by
dsRNA extraction and RT-PCR detection (Fig. 3). Furthermore, only
the AbFV1 in strain 817-14 could be eliminated by chemotherapy
despite five cycles of culture with the same chemicals. Thus,
it is probable that AbFV1 is relatively easier to be eliminated
than AbEV1, albeit the two viruses are maintained stably in the
natural host of A. brassicicola. The AbFV1-cured and the original
AbFV1-infected strains were subjected to comparison with biological
traits, including colony morphology, growth rate, sporulation
ability, and virulence
