2.9. Data analyses
Gilts with serum concentrations of progesterone more
than 2 ng/mL were considered to have CL, based on our
previous study indicating that progesterone concentration
more than 2 ng/mL was found during the luteal phase and
less than 1 ng/mL during the follicular phase of the estrous
cycle [25]. Serum testosterone and inhibin profiles during
sexual maturation in the male and female CryoXeno pigs
were subjected to one-way ANOVA for repeated measures
[26]. Serum testosterone and inhibin concentrations in
these pigs were also compared with those in conventional
pigs by two-way ANOVA for repeated measures. Percentages
of tubule cross-sections in each category were subjected
to two-way ANOVA. When a significant effect was
detected by ANOVA, the difference between two means
was determined by Student t test, and differences among
more than two means were determined by Tukey test. The
general linear models of Statistical Analysis Systems (SAS
Inc., Cary, NC, USA) were used for these analyses. Differences
at P-value less than 0.05 were considered significant.
