Glass sponges were found on both sides of the ridge in our study area (see Fig. 1), at a depth range of 65–108 m. Water temperature ranged from 8.11 to 8.42 °C and salinity ranged from 29.82 to 30.39 psu. Dominant substrate was biogenic (sponge reef) at 50–75% cover. Secondary substrates were bedrock and mud with occasional boulders. We did not observe any anthropogenic objects along the transects, other than cables and our index site markers. Lost prawn traps and plastic debris were occasionally observed outside the study area.
