Bacillus spp. are often antagonistic against other micro-organisms, including fish and shellfish pathogenic bacteria (Gatesoupe 1999;Rengipipat et al. 2000). The present study investigated the inhibitory activity of Bacillus subtilis BT23, isolated from shrimp culture ponds, against pathogenic Vibrio harveyi under in vitro and in vivo conditions.
