Our goal was to design a CAI project to teach visual
estimation of left ventricular ejection fraction on
echocardiography by computer display of digital video
sequences integrated with an efficient immediate
feedback technique. The target users were radiology
residents, ultrasound technologists, and cardiology
fellows. We collected data to evaluate the didactic
efficacy of the project, and in addition, we devised an
analytic methodology to stratify the level of a
student's knowledge while developing a normative
standard
