WeCu composite coatings with different contents of Cu were
prepared via APS and VPS technologies, respectively. The VPS-W/Cu
coatings exhibited dense and homogeneous structure, possessing
reduced oxygen content, lower porosity and higher microhardness
as compared with the APS-W/Cu coatings. The results show that the
CTEs of WeCu composite coatings increased with the addition of
Cu. As for the thermal conductivity of the coatings, it was not only
dependent on the content of Cu in the coatings, but also on their
microstructure, porosity, and oxygen content. The dense structure,
low oxygen content, large grain size of the VPS-W/Cu coatings
endowed them much higher thermal conductivities as compared
with the APS-W/Cu coatings
