Bag-snatcher nets B50k in Pattaya
TOURISM: A Chinese tourist has filed a complaint with police after a thief snatched her shoulder bag containing cash and valuables worth about 50,000 baht in Pattaya on Tuesday night.
The 51-year-old woman told police she was walking near the mouth of Soi 16-3 off Pattaya-Na Klua Road in Bang Lamung district around midnight when a man on a motorcycle snatched her bag.
She said the thief made off with about 7,000 yuan (36,800 baht) and 1,000 baht in cash, a diamond-studded ring, and a Buddha amulet and travel documents. Bag snatching is reported to be common in Pattaya.
