The irrigation amount varied with irrigation methods and levels. Total irrigation amount
changed from 102 to 303 mm in 2000, and from 81 to 267 mm in 2002 for both irrigation
methods (Table 2). Water amounts and the number of irrigation events of 2002 growing
season were less than 2000 growing season. The SD and SSD irrigation amounts were same
during 2000 growing season. Waddell et al. (1999) also reported similar findings earlier.
However, irrigation amounts of the two irrigation methods were different during 2002
growing season. SD irrigation method required less water than SSD irrigation method,
although the differences were very small (Table 2).
