The most commonly cited functions of management which equally applies for warehouse management are planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, although many experts have identified additional functions of management. Henri Fayol was one of the first theorists to define functions of management in his 1916 book “Administration Industrielle et Generale”. Frenchman Henri Fayol identified 5 functions of management, which he labeled: planning, organizing, commanding, coordinating and controlling (Wikipedia).
