For example, Hanabusa and Shinkai reported the creation of helically nanostructured silicas by using sol–gel reaction in the presence of diaminocyclohex- ane-based chiral organogels.8 Stupp et al. have also successfully fabricated single and double helices of cadmium sulfide (CdS) fibers from supramolecular assemblies.9 However, most of the reported works demonstrated the creation of helically nano- structured silicates, cadmium sulfide, metals or metal oxides by using supramolecular assemblies as templates.7–9
