or grading) during jaw movement.
(2) Joint catching: presence of joint catching (a sudden
momentary sticking of the jaw that prevents full opening
but is self-releasing).
(3) Joint lock: limitation in opening and feeling that
the jaw is caught without the ability to release.
(4) Joint pain: pain in the joint area.
(5) Joint tension: feeling of increased tension within
the joint, forcing a tension-releasing movement.
(6) Joint disturbance in the family: presence of these
types of joint symptoms in the family.
