Once upon a time, at Newgrange, there lived a young god named Aengus. One night, a beautiful girl visited Aengus in a dream. But when he put out arms to touch her, she disappeared. The next day, Aonghus was so s he wouldn't eat anything. That night, the girl appeared in his dreams again. This time, she played beautiful music and sang to him. But once again, she disappeared. Aonghus fell in love with the girl in his dreams. But he could not be with her. For a whole year, Aonghus would not eat, and he grew thinner and sicker. His friends and family searched for this mysterious girl. Finally, they found surrounded by one hundred and fifty other girls, who were tied together her, in pairs by silver chains. Her name was Caer, and she was the daughter of the fairy king. Immediately, Aonghus went to ask Caer father to let him marry her. But Caer father told Aonghus that he had no power over her, and that she had gone to lake where she would turn into a swan and live in her swan-form for a year. However, if he could identify Caer in her swan-form, she might agree to marry him. When Aonghus found the lake, there were many beautiful swans on it. They all looked so similar. Aonghus heard a song coming from across the lake. It was the song Caer had sung in his dreams. He called to her and asked her to marry him. Caer agreed, but only if he too would become a swan for a while. agreed, and changed into a swan. Together, they flew three times around the lake, and then flew to Newgrange, where after some time they turned back into humans and lived happily ever after.
