/LABORATORY ANIMALS: Acute Exposure/ /Investigators/ fed a group of 10 male Sprague-Dawley rats a control diet plus 0.5 mL Kaolin 20%-pectin 1%. The control diet was then fed for 48 hr and 72 hr later stool samples were collected. The samples were analyzed for volume, sodium, potassium, and fat content. The results were 103% increase in sodium; 184% increase in potassium; fat excretion remained at baseline.
