Conclusions
This study identified key correlations among communication skills, self-efficacy, and job satisfaction. It will be necessary to develop field-centered training programs that are customized to the unique characteristics common to ER nurses and that adopt new approaches to the nursing philosophy and organizational vision to improve the communicative competence of these nurses. In addition, further qualitative research is necessary to determine the communication phenomenon by analyzing the interactive nurseYpatient communication process in a clinical context. Finally, repetitive research that extends the current research beyond ER nurses to other special departments is required.
