Single blood samples were taken from each pig on day 5 of acclimatisation (3 days prior to the diet regime application
and 10 days prior to challenge with S. Typhimurium). Further single blood samples were taken from each pig 10 days after
the Salmonella challenge. All blood samples were taken using a non-heparinised vacutainer and then incubated at ambient
temperature for 2 h to allow clotting. Samples were centrifuged at 4300g to collect the sera which was stored at −20 ◦C until
analysis.
