The difference between Jaffe creatinine and enzymatic creatinine
was less than 10% (i.e. within the acceptable range of variability) in
63% of cases in the healthy group, versus only 40% of cases in the diabetic
group (P = 0.018). Enzymatic method results correlated borderline and
weakly with blood glucose levels (r = 0.18, P = 0.05),whereas Jaffe creatinine was significantly correlated with blood glucose (r = 0.30,
P = 0.001).
