In my opinion, what matters in when to complete checking is not the vessel schedule but the customer’s convenience.
Even if we complete checking and find some problem late at night just before loading the cargo, who at the customer’s side receives the information and give proper instructions to us.
Sometimes some of customers may kindly wait for us for some hours but we should not miss these “inconvenience” piling up little by little to collapse and harm our reputation someday.
Losing customers means losing cargo and losing the business itself.
I guess that the case for this time is mainly because the shifting by Namyong Terminal is not quick enough.
And I also know that both stevedoring and sales team always try to make them shift the cargo more quickly.
If they do not improve themselves in spite of all your efforts, we have no choice but to send our official complaint to their management although I am not sure if it can work as our expectation.
And actually I begin to think that Namyong/Regent must assign at least one checker to monitor the situation at the terminal and to react to fulfil our requirement as quickly as possible.
I am always trying to be neutral since I am a part of the stevedore team and also a part of sales team as well.
But these days I think that it is a time to review the current operation and possibly change something especially focusing on tally and inspection.
I am so sure that I am doing the very best to understand the situation or convenience of Namyong/Regent staff in the actual operation but current situation does not look nice for all of us in sustaining the business with confidence and pride.
Sorry if the above does not fit the discussion for this time.
Will discuss with all of you later again.
