Physical education programs can build on the innate pleasure that children experience in plying these games. By providing a variety of challenging takes and games situation, a teacher can help youngsters to develop chasing, fleeing, and dodging skills (see Figures 18.1). Experience suggests that it is best to focus on chasing, fleeing, and dodging skills after children have developed a working understanding of space awareness concepts.
Chasing, fleeing, and dodge activities are best played outdoors in large, grassy areas.
