Pectin-polypyrrole dispersions The synthesis of PPy was performed using either PC or dPC as the stabilizing agent, at 45◦C. The polymerization was monitored by UV–vis spectroscopy for 85 min. A typical PPy spectrum shows two bands centered at max∼440 nm and ∼800 nm. The second band is often attributed to the fully oxidized form of PPy (Arjomandi, Shah,Bilal, Hoangd, & Holze, 2011). The polymerization was effective because it was possible to observe the color change of the solution from semi-transparent to dark brown and also observe the increase in the intensity of the bands at max.
