Effect strap and tape jumper’s knee symptoms
(Öken et al., 2008). Future research should therefore focus on the effects of orthoses in the long term to see if longer use of an orthosis in patellar tendinopathy is still beneficial. Another limitation of this study was that the diagnosis of PT was a clinical one (based on e.g., patellar tendon pain and palpation tenderness) and was not con-firmed with ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging,
so we might have included some patients with other knee pathology causing anterior knee pain. It should also be noted that in the current study, only one brand of patellar strap was used. As the design of different brands of patellar straps can be diverse, these results cannot readily be generalized to other brands. Since there was a large difference in effectiveness between individuals, and almost none of the characteristics were found to be asso-ciatedwith the effect of the orthoses, future studies should focus on finding predictors of effectiveness.
