Only a few studies have reported genetic correlation estimates
among lifetime reproductive traits and post-weaning
growth traits previously and reported estimates tend to be
low and have high standard errors (Holm, et al., 2004; ten
Napel and Johnson, 1997; Young et al., 1978), which cause
the estimates to be indistinguishable from zero as in this
study.
The phenotypic correlations found in this study were
low and also indistinguishable from zero.
This is in agreement
with the genetic correlations.
