controlling the stored-product insects. Artemisia species essential
oils exhibited important insecticidal activities that depend upon
the type and nature of the constituents and their individual concentration levels . In the same context, Coloma et al. (2010)
reported that the toxic effects of A. absinthium could be attributed
to its major components. However, the insecticidal effects of the
essential oils cannot be explained by the action of their major
components only, suggesting that these actions are the result of
a synergistic interaction between all components. Indeed, Zhang
et al. (2014) reported that the bioactivity properties of A. argyi
(H. Lév. & Vaniot) essential oil can be attributed to the synergistic
effects of its diverse major and minor components
