2. Basic equations
Consider the steady, two-dimensional laminar flow and heat transfer of an incompressible, viscous non-Newtonian power-law fluid over a stretching flat sheet. It is assumed that the sheet moves with a velocity according to a power-law form, i.e. Uw=Cxm, and is subject to a prescribed surface temperature, i.e. Tw=T∞+Axγ. It is also assumed that the viscous dissipation is neglected. With these assumptions and invoking the boundary layer approximations, the governing equations for the boundary layer flow and heat transfer are
