Various compositions of PVP and CMC solutions were prepared
by dissolving PVP and CMC in deionized water at 80 C for about
2 h with stirring to become homogeneous mixtures (CMC/PVP =
80:20, 60:40, 50:50, 40:60:, and 20:80), ensuring that the total
copolymer concentration is 20 wt.%. The mixtures were cooled to
room temperature and the pasty copolymer blends were packed in
polyethylene bags. Samples were then irradiated using 60Co
c-source at doses 20, 25 and 30 kGy.
