A Critical Review of Williams' Analysis
Although Williams'(1961) analysis is perhaps the most effective account of the overall aims and interest groups affecting British education, it is open to criticism on a number of points. In practice, as Williams admits, aims tend to be mixed, rather than pure and isolated,as described. This is, of course, true of any simplifying account of aims. Beyond this, there is the criticism that further unidentified but significant modern British interest groups exist, suggesting that the analysis can benefit from modification and revision.
