1. To assist in working with the persons of concern residing in the temporary shelters in
Tak Province, fostering community-based and rights-based approaches to improving
the protection environment for persons of concerns.
2. To support the development of community-owned/mobilized activities to strengthen
the protection space in the temporary shelters with a particular emphasis on Sexual
and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) prevention and response and child protection.
3. To support the development and facilitation of training initiatives for relevant actors
in communities of concern in areas noted in points one and two above, where
appropriate.
4. To assist in analyzing protection risks and capacities in communities of concern.
5. To support participatory assessments and ongoing consultation with persons of
concern.
6. To assist in the monitoring and evaluation of programmes from an Age Gender
Diversity (AGD) perspective.
7. To support advocacy with local government authorities to negotiate access for persons
of concern to national services (e.g. health, education, child protection) where
applicable.
8. To assist in assessment and intervention in individual child protection and SGBV
cases as needed. This will include inter alia conducting Best interest Determination or
Best Interest Assessments. To maintain accurate and comprehensive records of any
individual casework and protection interventions undertaken through UNHCR’s
database and filing system.
9. To perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
