Microalgae proceeded with the mechanism of nutrient absorption where both organic and inorganic nutritional inputs for its growth were taken from the wastewater (Lananan et al., 2014). In the absence of chemical and additional
mixing requirement, phytoremediation also helps in reducing the operational costs of wastewater treatment. In the first stage, this paper presents the capabilities of the selected microalgae,(Chlorella sp.) in terms of its growth and for its performance in the removal of nutrients during phytoremediation treatments.
