5.7 Worksite Inspection and Evaluation
The facility project owner shall ensure worksite inspections are conducted with support form the facility EHS
representative. The frequency of the inspections is to be determined based on the pre-work risk assessment.
During the inspections the facility shall ensure the contractor/supplier is complying with applicable regulations
and Covidien requirements. The EHS representative and/or Project owner shall ensure findings are
documented and addressed in a timely manner.
Depending on the project schedule, the project owner shall arrange for reviews with the contractor to discuss
and view environmental, health and safety issues. The process shall be formalized with documentation of any
recommendations or concerns raised during these reviews.
Covidien shall retain the right to remove contractors who violate applicable regulations or demonstrate a
practice of taking unreasonable risks.
5.8 Contractor or Supplier Evaluation
At the completion of a job or the expiration of the contract, an evaluation of the contractors or suppliers
performing medium and high hazard work previous performance shall be documented and issued to the
Purchasing Department for use when considering the contractor for future work. Contractor/supplier
evaluation shall include a review of the promptness and effectiveness of all corrective actions taken to reduce
or eliminate environmental, safety and health hazards identified during the job as well as an evaluation of all
subcontractors used by the prime contractor on the job.
Note: The contractor/supplier evaluation can be conducted by the project owner, with the support of the
EH&S representative, and/or the Purchasing Department. Although this requirement applies to contractors
performing medium and high hazard work, it is recommended to conduct the evaluation for contractors
performing low hazard work when appropriate.

All Covidien employees shall receive awareness training on the facility contractor and supplier management
program as appropriate, and the need to report any contractor or supplier incident to appropriate facility
contacts.

• The facility contractor and supplier management program;
