Considering a theoretical CH4 production of
0.35 L of methane per gram of COD removed when the whole
incoming COD is transformed into methane and considering
virtually negligible the biomass growth and cell maintenance
[3,28,29], our results showed an elevated effectiveness of the
studied anaerobic process in converting two-phases OMSR into
methane at a mesophilic temperature and at the tested OLRs.
