My grandparents have a sweet story too. They dated in high school and had a very Danny/Sandy thing going on. My grandfather was the leather jacket wearing greaser type and my grandmother was a "good girl" in poodle skirts and never broke curfew, etc. One time they got in a fight and my grandmother even threw his senior ring at him from down the school hall.
So my Grandfather gets drafted right at the end of school (Grandma is 17) and they decide to elope. They leave in the middle of the night, drive for hours and when they get to the church are told that legally my Grandma can't marry at the age of 17 in the state of Ohio. So my Grandma turns to my Grandpa and says, "I can't go home this late and not be married. My Mother will kill me." They drove across state lines and were married by morning. Grandpa shipped out the next day. They were together and happy till the day she died.
