You don't want your metrics to get affected if the buyer first place an order for the product and then wishes to cancel the order:
Please be informed that your metrics will not be affected if you cancel the order when the buyer request to cancel the order with the subject line "order cancellation request from Amazon customer".
After receiving the cancellation request, in your Seller Account, under Manage Orders follow these steps to cancel an order you have not yet confirmed:
1. Click "View your orders" to find the order you want to cancel. Use the Search button, the Advanced Search link, or page through the orders.
2. Click the "Cancel order" button next to the order (or below the order if you are looking at an order detail page).
3. Select the "Reason for Cancellation" from the drop-down list and click Submit. The order is cancelled and Amazon sends an e-mail notification to the buyer.
Note: Please select the 'reason for cancellation' as buyer cancelled.
When you receive an order cancellation request from buyer and select the reason code as buyer cancelled in your account, your metrics do not get affected.
Please know that our systems are automated, hence when a buyer sends a cancellation request from the cancellation tool, it is only then our system takes it as buyer cancellation and does not include that order while calculating your metrics.
Please be assured that we are here to make things easier for you and will do whatever we can to prevent you from bearing any kind of loss.
