A key facilitator in deploying globally is the use of local agents with detailed knowledge of local regulation specificities. Good connections with local authorities as well as a well-garnished roster of service providers and suppliers are essential. In order to bring standard operating procedures (SOPs) and a simple norm for employees to follow in light of disparate local regulations, it is essential to adopt a uniform code of practices that will adopt the strictest regulations for each area of operations. This simplifies the training of individuals and reduces risk of human errors. Long- term advance planning was also found to be a key indicator of deployment success. Using scouts to go on location and meet these future service providers and suppliers in person has proven essential. The constant change in deployment locations requires skilled advance work to be conducted in order to ensure a suc- cessful future operation. At that stage there is a certain unknown aspect of the demographics change due to the lack of a specific model of onboard consumption. Therefore, any deployment with new demographics or passenger mix requires a good built-in flexibility. Lastly having a good communication infrastructure with a centralized database as well as an Intranet accessible 24 h a day is also essential in this global deployment. The ability to have a con- tinuous flow of communication and timely response is crucial in this type of time sensitive environment. A further step in this continuous information loop would be to develop an operation centre that could operate 24 h a day, monitoring inventories level, transportation lanes, and incoming reports. This would allow a ro- bust support of operations that occurs in a multitude of time zones.
